Parable of the Talents Matt 25:14-30

Here is the real takeaway from the story, and it is pretty simple once you look past the numbers: this was never about who got more money.

If you notice, neither the master nor the guy with the single coin ever argued about the starting amount. That wasn’t the problem. The real issue came down to ownership, accountability, and character.

When Jesus said that whoever has will be given more, while whoever has nothing will lose even what they have, it sounds harsh at first glance. But ask yourself: what did that servant actually lack that the others brought to the table?

It wasn't opportunity. He lacked sense of ownership, accountability and character to manage what he was handed. He buried what he was handed because he refused to care for it, and because he wouldn't step up, he lost it entirely to the person who proved they could manage it.

That’s the challenge for all of us. Whatever you’ve been handed—your time, relationships, skills, or opportunities—own it. Stop playing the blame game or waiting for the "ideal" hand to be dealt. Own your choices, own your mistakes, and be faithful with what’s in front of you so you can build on it and multiply it.
